After several postponements, the 8th edition of the Yaounde International Business, SME and Partnership Fair, PROMOTE 2022 was finally held. Under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E. Paul Biya, the theme of the event was: “Industrialisation of Africa, a key to the emergence of the continent”.
This multisectoral exhibition brought together more than 1,000 companies from around 30 countries.
Thus, during 09 days, from 19 to 27 February 2022 at the Palais de Congrès, Solidarité Technologique was once again present at this event. The exhibition stand of ST’s know-how in the field of recycling of electrical and electronic waste was in the Made In Cameroon pavilion.
Organised in a context where the COVID-19 pandemic health crisis is still present, the number of companies selected for the exhibition was limited. Also, compared to previous editions, the number of visitors was reduced and the usual activities were almost non-existent.
Animation of the Technological Solidarity stand
During this event, the Solidarité Technologique stand received many visitors who were very interested in the concept of recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Students, company managers and individuals visited the stand and were made aware of the health and environmental issues surrounding WEEE. The latter, coming from various towns in Cameroon, expressed their desire to see Solidarité Technologique work in their respective towns as well, in view, according to them, of the heaps of WEEE that are found there. This further underlines the importance of a structure like Solidarité Technologique for the management of environmental problems linked to the specific hazardous waste that is WEEE.
