OUR FINANCIAL PARTNERS
For over 20 years, the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) has been a French public fund designed to promote the protection of the global environment in developing countries. The FFEM contributes to the financing of development projects with a significant and sustainable impact on major global environmental challenges: biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation including desertification and deforestation, persistent organic pollutants, ozone layer. In December 2016, the FFEM committed €1.7 million to the WEEECAM project developed by Solidarité Technologique and its partners.
Since 2017, Syctom committed €150,000 to the WEEECAM project developed by Solidarité Technologique and its partners. For more than 30 years, Syctom has been a major player in waste treatment in France and Europe. In order to substantiate their commitment to external actions with positive outcome, Syctom launched an international solidarity programme in November 2015. Within the framework of the “1% waste” introduced by the extension of the Oudin-Santini law of 7th July 2014, the objective is to contribute to the improvement of waste management in developing countries.
The City of Paris also committed in 2017 to participate in the WEEECAM project for an amount of 150,000 euros.
Total is a company based in Courbevoie (Hauts de Seine, France). Its ambition is to test and develop innovative business models to provide access to electricity for the least favoured communities, considering the product life cycle and the environmental issues involved. In this context, Total has committed to financially support the WEEECAM project.
The Suez Initiatives Fund supports access to essential services (water, sanitation, waste) in developing countries. In partnership with the Institut de France, it gives the Suez-Institut de France Award every two years to initiatives considered exceptional in these fields. Solidarité Technologique won the 2016 Prize for Social Entrepreneurship, worth 50,000 euros.
ADEME is a public institution under the joint supervision of the Ministry for the Ecological and Solidary Transition and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. ADEME takes part in the implementation of public policies in the fields of environment, energy and sustainable development. The Agency also helps to finance projects, particularly in the field of waste management.
Since 2011, the Convergence Awards have rewarded each year the projects of public and private solidarity partners committed to an equitable and sustainable future, as well as a “Zero exclusion, Zero carbon, Zero poverty” world. They seek to promote projects supported by a strong and innovative partnership between structures from different sectors (public, private, solidarity, academic). In this context, the WEEECAM project was awarded the 2018 International Convergence Prize, worth €15,000.
Created in 2006, the Société Générale Foundation works to combat inequalities and supports around 100 projects per year. Its areas of intervention are helping young people to enter working life, combating illiteracy and education. In this context, it wished to support the WEEECAM project with €35,000.
European leader in daily life insurance, SPB is a French family-owned company founded in 1965 that currently supports more than 45 million policyholders in 12 countries. Since 2013, SPB has been supporting Solidarité Technologique through a loyal sponsorship that allows it to maintain and develop its activities.
Since its establishment in Cameroon in 1924, Allianz Cameroun has combined the assets of professionalism with the strength and solidity of an international leader in insurance and financial services. Since 2011, Allianz Cameroun Assurances has been supporting the Professional Training activity of Solidarité Technologique by financing the training of two of the most disadvantaged students.
NOS PARTENAIRES TECHNIQUES
La Guilde Européenne du Raid is a French NGO created in 1967 and recognized as serving the public good. Its missions are divided into 4 areas of activity: promote adventure, send volunteers on mission, provide support for solidarity micro-projects and implement development projects with a permanent concern for the empowerment of its partners. La Guilde has been involved with Solidarité Technologique since 2011 and is leading the consortium of partners conducting the WEEECAM project.
BRGM, the French geological survey, is France’s reference public institution for Earth Science applications in the management of surface and subsurface resources and risks. Its expertise in environmental technologies and mineral raw material processing is internationally recognized. BRGM is technically and financially involved in the WEEECAM project, as it makes its cutting-edge research and development skills available for the project. In 2017, BRGM committed 200,000 euros to the project.
Gevalor is a French association under the law of 1901, specialised in the support of local authorities in developing countries, to improve the management of their household waste. As a partner of Solidarité Technologique, it takes part in the implementation of the WEEECAM project by sharing its skills and experience in waste recovery process engineering, carbon finance and skills exchange.
OUR INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERS
The support provided by the Ministry of Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED) for Solidarité Technologique takes the form of two commitments. On the one hand, the Ministry supports ST in the search for funding for the project. On the other hand, the Ministry provides support and supervision in the execution of the WEEECAM project through technical monitoring and administrative animation.
The Urban Community of Douala wanted to get involved in the WEEECAM project by offering a contribution in kind. This contribution includes the provision of 5 land parcels for the installation of WEEE collection points, as well as the provision of a 1 ha site in Ngombé (30km from the center of Douala), on which a semi-industrial WEEE treatment unit with a capacity of 5,000 t/year will be built.
The Urban Community of Yaoundé also wanted to get involved in the WEEECAM project by offering a contribution in kind, with the provision of 7 land parcels allowing the installation of collection points in the different districts of the city.
